The far bank looks like you could climb up the river, right amongst the falls, like they were stepping stones. What a fun area to explore and photograph.
Catherine the part of the river on that side below the falls is deeper since all the flow goes over there. It could be climbed I supposed but you'd get wet. Might be slippery too. Maybe in August it would be warm enough to do without freezing! That river drains very cold mountain streams. You can take a train ride to the falls from Cheat Bridge, WV in the warmer months.
Lol, I was speaking more in whimsy than fact, but I did mean climbing in the river so getting wet was expected. Hadn't thought on water temperature though!
